This is Faisel and Wife my Mallard Pair. I got them as day old ducklings from the local feed store in the Summer of 2005. Faisel is a very good husband and extremely watchful and protective of Wife. He's very aggressive to the dogs, and chases them if they get too close.

Princess my White Turkey. She was born somewhere around Spring 2005. Princess was rescued by my roommate from a family who did not want her anymore. They were vegetarians and fed Princess only organic vegetables they grew in their garden. Because of this her foot is permanently curled and deformed due to not receiving enough nutrients as a poult. It took Princess a long time to begin eating normally, but finally willing accepted appropriate feed. When I returned home from a road trip, my roommate gave the turkey to me and I named her Princess. Because she looks like royalty to me. A lot of people think Turkeys are stupid and mean, but this generally is not the case. Princess is very sweet, intelligent, and aware of her surroundings.

This is me and with my very first duck, Squeakers. I think I'm about seven here, and I wouldn't get another duck until I'm twenty! Squeakers was bought by my mom's boyfriend to give to his nephew as an Easter present. I was just supposed to watch him for a few days, but afterwards I couldn't part with him, and mother and her boyfriend let me keep him. I have fond memories of Squeakers following me around the house, and jumping in my cereal. Once he got too big we got a small pool for him in the backyard. Once he got really big, my mom insisted we release Squeak at Lemon Lake nearby to be with his duck friends. This was probably a really bad idea, but I had no idea at the time, and to her credit my mom probably didn't either. I remember watching Squeakers float away on the lake and join the other ducks. I missed him very much after that, and always very badly wanted another duck. Twelve years later, I moved out. The end. :) (Thanks, Mommy, for letting Squeakers stay with us for awhile.)
